Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was perfect for exploring the town attractions and nature reserves, but the room was small and uncomfortably warm. The service, however, was top-notch with attentive and friendly staff. Dining left something to be desired despite the exceptional value. Overall, a mixed experience with great location and service but room comfort could be improved.
The hotel is nestled in the heart of old Rye, offering a charming historical setting. The rooms balance rich history with modern comforts, though some could be of better quality. The service provided has its shining moments with friendly and helpful staff, even if not consistently so. The location is ideal for exploring the cobbled streets of old Rye, yet connectivity issues marred the experience. Dining experiences were elevated by attentive and jovial staff, albeit with some positioning challenges. Overall, a mixed bag of experiences in a quaint historical setting.
If you're looking for a modern room equipped with everything you need but not just an ordinary box to sleep in, this might not be the best choice. The hotel needed updating and the rooms were very hot despite having a fan. On the bright side, the service here is fantastic, especially with Glenn looking after our large party for my brother's big 50th celebration. The local produce influenced menu was excellent, albeit possibly a bit fussy but still delicious. The location is fabulous, with a quiet street setting near the station, bus stops, and shops. The dining staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the hotel's history, and the dishes offered were of high quality. Despite being busy, the dining experience was very good. Sadly, there are limitations in parking here, and you may find yourself slightly inconvenienced. Overall, a positive experience with minor inconveniences.
The hotel had all the facilities needed with comfortable four poster beds but could have been cleaner, mainly dusty. The service was top-notch with staff who could not do enough for you, and Glenn was the star of the show. The location was brilliant, right in the town center with free parking in Rye. The dining experience was a mixed bag, with limited but satisfying options. The facilities were adequate for a pleasant stay.
Staying at the hotel was a delightful experience. The charming rooms, overlooking Mermaid Street, with its huge carved Caen stone fireplace, created a cozy atmosphere. However, the small and outdated bathroom was a bit of a letdown. The service was exceptional with friendly and knowledgeable staff eager to share the history of the Mermaid Inn. The location was wonderful, offering beautiful views from the outdoor terrace and easy access to the train station. The dining experience was of a very high standard, with delicious and copious meals, though the inability to cook a poached egg stood out. Overall, a lovely stay with a few minor room-related drawbacks.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, although a bit small, were clean and comfortable, providing a lovely experience with a very comfy bed. The location was excellent, right in the heart of Rye, offering a historic setting with convenient access to boutique shops and charming tea rooms. The dining experience was of a high standard, although slightly on the expensive side for what was offered.
I found the hotel to be a cozy and comfortable stay for me, my partner, and our dog. The room, although the smallest in the hotel, was spotless and had a washbasin within the bedroom, making it very convenient. The service was top-notch, with staff being unfailingly helpful and professional. The location was perfect, being a short walk to Mint Street and full of history and character. The dining experience exceeded our expectations in terms of seating, choice, and service. Overall, a great value for money stay with a few minor inconveniences.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of lovely experiences and some minor inconveniences. The historical charm of the rooms was delightful, but the noise levels were a bit high at the very top. The friendly and down-to-earth staff made my stay enjoyable despite the minor issues.
The Inn had a lovely, clean, and bright room with an excellent walk-in shower. Although charmingly old-fashioned with a beautiful four-poster bed, I had a bit of trouble controlling the room temperature. Despite this, it was truly a treat to stay here. The service was generally very good and friendly, but there was a little hiccup during breakfast which could use some more attention. The location was amazing, cozy, and conveniently located near the station, bus stops, and shops. The dining was good for a base to travel from, with delicious options. The hotel also offered brilliant facilities, and the overall stay was memorable.
The hotel is lovely and spotless with brilliant service, although the rooms can get quite hot due to the extract fan. Rye is a charming area to explore, and the hotel offers great value for the money.
